Academic Year 2014 - 2015



1st Year Admission Notice (2014-15)

Provisional Admission to 1st year B. A., B. Sc. and B. Com. (Honours & General) for the academic session 2014-2015 will be as per the following schedule:

1. Issue & Submission of admission form : 02/06/14 (Monday) to 13/06/14 (Friday)
11:00 am to 2:00 pm on all working days except Saturday and holidays
Cost of Admission Form Rs.100 (Rupees one hundred only)
2. Last date of submission of admission form : 13/06/14 (Friday) (up to 2:00 pm)
3. Publication of Merit List : 1st List - 23/06/14 (Monday) (after 2:00 pm)
2nd List – 03/07/14 (Thursday) (after 11:00 am)
4. Admission will start from : 1st List : 30/06/14 (Monday) to 02/07/14 (Wednesday)
2nd List : 04/07/14 (Friday) to 09/07/14 (Wednesday)
except Saturday & holidays
Admission Time: 11.00 am - 2.00 pm
• Admission open till 9th August 2014, as per availability of seats.

N.B. –
  • Original Mark Sheet has to be produced at the time of collection of form.
  • Separate forms are to be issued for separate subjects in Honours and General.
  • Photocopy of Madhyamik & H. S. Admit Card, Mark Sheet and SC/ST/OBC certificate to be attached with the Form at the time of submission.
  • Photocopy of admission form is to be produced at the time of submission of form to the issuing officer for receiving stamp of the college.

Minimum Eligibility for Admission to 1st Year B. A., B. Sc. and B. Com. (Honours and General) Courses for the Session 2014-15

General Conditions

  • Pass in H. S. (10+2) or equivalent level
  • Pass in English having full marks of not being less than 100 in H. S. (10+2) or equivalent level
  • Compulsory Environmental Education/ Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks of best four subjects for admission to Honours Course.
English Honours
For General Students For SC/ST Students
(i) 50% marks in aggregate of best four subjects in H. S. (10+2) or equivalent level and 45 % marks in English
OR
(i) 40% marks in aggregate in H.S. (10+2) or equivalent level

OR
(ii) 55% marks in English (ii) 40% marks in English in H.S. (10+2) or equivalent level
Subject combination in English Honours: Any two from Sociology, Education, History and Economics

Bengali Honours
For General Students For SC/ST Students
(i) 50% marks in aggregate of best four subjects in H. S. (10+2) or equivalent level and 45 % marks in Bengali
OR
(i) 40% marks in aggregate in H.S. (10+2) or equivalent level

OR
(ii) 55% marks in Bengali (ii) 40% marks in Bengali in H.S. (10+2) or equivalent level
Subject combination in Bengali Honours: Any two from Sociology, Education, History and Economics

History Honours
For General Students For SC/ST Students
(i) 50% marks in aggregate of best four subjects in H. S. (10+2) or equivalent level and 45 % marks in History
OR
(i) 40% marks in aggregate in H.S. (10+2) or equivalent level

OR
(ii) 55% marks in History (ii) 40% marks in History in H.S. (10+2) or equivalent level
Subject combination in History Honours: Any two from Sociology, Education, Bengali and Economics

Economics Honours*
For General Students For SC/ST Students
(i) 50% marks in aggregate of best four subjects in H. S. (10+2) or equivalent level and 45 % marks in Economics
OR
(i) 40% marks in aggregate in H.S. (10+2) or equivalent level

OR
(ii) 55% marks in Economics
OR
(ii) 40% marks in History in H.S. (10+2) or equivalent level
(iii) For students from Science stream, 50% marks in aggregate of best four subjects in H. S. (10+2) or equivalent level and Pass in Mathematics    
* For Economics Honours pass in Mathematics at H.S. or (10+2) level is necessary
Subject combination in Economics Honours: Any two from Sociology, Education, Bengali and Economics

Mathematics Honours
For General Students For SC/ST Students
(i) 50% marks in aggregate of best four subjects in H. S. (10+2) or equivalent level and 45 % marks in Mathematics
OR

Subject combination in Mathematics Honours: Any two from Economics, Statistics & Computer Science

B.Com. Honours (Accounting & Finance Group)
For General Students For SC/ST Students
(i) 50% marks in aggregate of best four subjects in H.S. (10+2) or equivalent level
AND
45 % marks in Accountancy or Business Organisation or Book Keeping or Economics or BEM or Mathematics or Statistics
OR
(i) 40% marks in aggregate in H.S. (10+2) or equivalent level
OR
(ii) 55% marks in Accountancy or Business Organisation or Book Keeping or Economics or BEM or Mathematics
OR
(ii) Organisation or Book Keeping or Economics or BEM or Mathematics or Statistics in H.S. (10+2) or equivalent level
OR
Subject combination in Mathematics Honours: Any two from Economics, Statistics & Computer Science
(iii) For students from Science stream, 50% marks in aggregate of best four subjects in H. S. (10+2) or equivalent level and 45% marks in Mathematics (iii) For students from Science stream, 40% marks in aggregate of best four subjects in H. S. (10+2) or equivalent level and Pass marks in Mathematics

B. Com General
(i) Pass in H. S. (10+2) or equivalent level in Commerce Stream
OR
(ii) For students from Science Stream, pass in H. S. (10+2) or equivalent level with pass in Mathematics

B. A. General
(i) Pass in H. S. (10+2) or equivalent level in Any Stream
(ii) Subject Combination:
Any three from Elective Bengali, Elective English, Sociology, Education, History & Economics

B. Sc. General
(i) Pass in H. S. (10+2) or equivalent level in Science Stream with Mathematics
(ii) Subject Combination:
Any three from Mathematics, Economics, Statistics & Computer Science
